Senior Estimator - Civil Engineering

Job description

A Civil Engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Estimator to work on a portfolio of tenders from £10 – £50m each within the London / SE region. Projects vary from earthworks, structures, groundworks, and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will:

• Be degree qualified and preferably chartered
• Have a track record of leading the pre-construction team for a civil engineering main contractor
• Have a proven record in estimating, bidding, and winning design and build contracts

Responsibilities

1. Coordinate and work with the work-winning resource in liaison with the Business Unit Manager and General Manager
2. Maintain expert knowledge of the construction market and advise the work-winning team accordingly
3. Lead and develop winning proposals in response to client bid documents
4. Own the tender process from bid to award, ensuring adherence to company procedures
5. Establish bid strategy with Senior Management, possibly involving joint ventures or alliances
6. Identify resource requirements and coordinate availability with Senior Management
7. Manage bid programme and deliverables effectively
