Job summary

Nicholas Associates are recruiting a Senior Estimator for a leading RC frame and civil engineering contractor. You will drive pre-construction pricing and tendering for projects from £2m to £30m, leading on bids and collaborating with commercial, technical and operations teams.

Key responsibilities include preparing detailed estimates for groundworks and civil packages, analysing drawings and specifications, and presenting tender submissions to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator.
• Proven experience in civil engineering.
• Excellent numeracy, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.
• Confident communicator, capable of leading tender presentations and negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and lead detailed cost estimates for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tenders.

Nicholas Associates are partnering with a well-established and highly reputable RC frame and civil engineering contractor to recruit a Senior Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-standing business with a strong pipeline of large-scale developments.

As a key member of the commercial team, you will play a vital role in driving project success, leading on tendering activities, and contributing to the company's continued growth.

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction process, leading the pricing and tendering for RC frame, groundworks and civil engineeringpackages from £2m to £30m.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and lead detailed cost estimates for groundworks and civil engineering projects
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tenders
• Work closely with the commercial, technical, and operational teams
• Attend pre-and post-tender meetings with clients and internal stakeholders
• Identify risk and opportunity in tender submissions

About You

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator
• Proven experience in civil engineering
• Excellent numeracy, attention to detail, and commercial awareness
• Proficient with Candy or Conquest software.
• Confident communicator, capable of leading tender presentations and negotiations
