Job summary

Airbus Prestwick Aerosystems is seeking a Senior Estimator in Prestwick, Ayrshire to deliver accurate quotes for aircraft components. You will compile estimates from drawings and Bills of Materials, using parametric or historical data, and present assumptions clearly to stakeholders.

The role requires a structured approach, strong commercial sense, and effective communication. The package includes a pension, generous annual leave, and performance bonus.

• Extensive - Systematic and uniform approach to complete tasks in timely manner.
• Developed commercial and financial awareness.
• Ability to communicate written and orally both internally within the business and externally with customers.
• Ability to manage complex tasks and small projects.
• Understanding of Contract Terms and legal requirements.
• Knowledge of export control of data and product requirements.

Responsibilities

• Allocate tasks and provide direction and guidance to Estimators as required for the provision of estimates for the construction of competitive quotes for new business and customers ranging from detail parts to major aircraft components and projects.
• Compile estimates where full engineering definition is available such as drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Compile estimates using parametric or historical data with reasoned assumptions where minimum engineering data is available.
• Present estimates, clearly highlighting any assumptions, to others that may not be familiar with the data and issues so that they are readily understood.
• Liaise with other departments, functions and stakeholders in order to obtain and analyse all required data to complete estimates and quotations.
• Provide an estimating service to the Projects and Functions for engineering change and cost reduction opportunities.

Prestwick Aerosystems continues Ayrshire’s long‑standing aircraft manufacturing tradition. From our Prestwick site, we manufacture aircraft wing structures used on Airbus commercial aircraft worldwide.

You will provide the estimated cost of a product or service using the most reliable sources available and assuming a reasonable degree of accuracy or efficiency. Use a systematic and uniform estimating approach to ensure that all estimates are realistic and competitive and that a prompt and efficient service is provided to the enquirer.
