Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd is recruiting for an established steel and aluminium fabrication business covering architectural metalwork, structural steelwork, sheet metal fabrication and bespoke products.

The role involves managing enquiries from review to quotation, presenting proposals, and handing over orders, with close collaboration with the MD and sales team on larger opportunities.

Qualifications

• Reading engineering drawings and architectural drawings.
• Ability to turn relatively early in design-to-quote process.
• Experience estimating for metal fabrication projects.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and enquiries to prepare accurate estimates.
• Produce material and labour take-offs.
• Obtain supplier quotations and assess costs.
• Identify fabrication methods, finishes and installed requirements.
• Liaise with technical/production teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Present quotations to customers and handover orders.

Proactive Personnel are recruiting for an established and growing steel and aluminium fabrication business working across architectural metalwork, structural steelwork, sheet metal fabrication and bespoke fabricated products.

In the role you will manage enquiries from initial review through to quotation and, where required, customer presentation and order handover.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and customer enquiries.
• Preparing accurate estimates for architectural metalwork, sheet metalwork and general fabrication.
• Producing material and labour take-offs.
• Obtaining and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identifying fabrication methods, bought-out items, finishes, installation requirements and other project costs.
• Carrying out site surveys and taking accurate site dimensions.
• Meeting customers to discuss requirements and develop practical, commercially viable solutions.
• Presenting quotations and proposals confidently to customers.
• Working alongside the Managing Director and sales team on larger or more technical opportunities.
• Identifying value-engineering opportunities where appropriate.
• Liaising with our technical and production teams to ensure quoted projects can be efficiently manufactured and installed.
• Providing a clear handover once an order is secured.
• Maintaining accurate estimating and quotation records.
