Your new role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their Manchester pre-construction team. This role offers the chance to play a pivotal part in securing major projects valued at 10 million and above. You will be responsible for managing the full tendering process, preparing accurate cost estimates, and supporting the business in winning work across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for major projects.
• Leading the bid process, working collaboratively with pre-construction and delivery teams.
• Analysing drawings, specifications, and contract documents to produce accurate pricing.
• Engaging with supply chain partners to obtain competitive quotations.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and innovative solutions.
• Assessing risks and opportunities within bids and supporting commercial strategies.
• Presenting estimates and tender reports to senior management.
• Contributing to business development by maintaining strong client and consultant relationships.

What you will need to succeed

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator with a Tier 1 main contractor.
• Strong background in estimating large-scale projects across education, healthcare, industrial, and custodial sectors.
• Experience with schemes valued at 10m+.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, processes, and cost drivers.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office packages.
• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Quantity Surveying, Construction Management) or equivalent experience.
