Job summary

Careys Foundation in Kings Cross is seeking a Senior Estimator to join the Work-winning team. You will produce high‑quality estimates, mentor colleagues, and support the delivery of Careys’ 5‑year Strategic Plan.

You will review tenders, lead estimators, prepare first‑principles estimates, and analyse bids with a focus on risk, value engineering, and client engagement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience across groundworks, earthworks, drainage or RC frames.
• Proven track record estimating multimillion‑pound packages.
• Strong understanding of measurement methods (SMM7).
• Confident using electronic measurement tools (Bluebeam/ACC Take Off Tool).
• Excellent commercial awareness and numerical ability.
• Strong organisation, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Collaborative, supportive and proactive approach.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Experience with Candy or similar estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Complete and review quantity take-offs using Bluebeam or ACC Take Off Tool
• Produce bills of quantities and review rates

• Assess project risks and opportunities
• Contribute to tender reports, mid-bid meetings and adjudications
• Attend client meetings and support bid negotiations

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Kings Cross

Description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join our collaborative Work-Winning team and play a key role in shaping major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, you’ll produce high‑quality estimates, mentor colleagues, and support the delivery of Careys’ 5‑year Strategic Plan.
