About Us:
Our client is a well-established and reputable refurbishment contractor based in Hertfordshire, specialising in delivering high-quality projects across commercial, and industrial sectors. With a strong track record of successful projects, they pride themselves on their professionalism, client satisfaction, and long-term relationships. As a growing business, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team and contribute to the continued success of the company.

The Role:
As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for managing and leading the estimating function across a wide range of refurbishment projects. You will work closely with the project management and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates, while maintaining the company's high standards of quality and budget control.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage cost estimates for refurbishment projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission
• Liaise with clients, architects, and subcontractors to gather the necessary project information and ensure all aspects of the project are considered
• Develop accurate and detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and ensure costs are aligned with project specifications
• Analyse and interpret project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to assess cost implications
• Review subcontractor quotes and manage the procurement process
• Work closely with the project management team to ensure cost control during the execution of projects
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks
• Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings with clients and key stakeholders
• Mentor and support junior estimators within the team

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the refurbishment sector, ideally with a medium-sized contractor
• Strong understanding of refurbishment processes and the ability to estimate across various types of projects
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant qualifications in construction, estimating, or a related field are desirable
