The project:

Be a part of our group services team that provides support to all businesses across our five global hubs, based in our corporate head office in London. The role will support the Mace Fit Out + Retrofit division.

This position is for an Office Fit Out role, tendering Cat A & B office fit outs in London and surrounding areas. Candidates must have experience tendering Office fit outs over £15m+, managing multiple tenders from cradle to grave.

The Senior Estimator supports the business by delivering tender responses aligned with the company's brand, position, and processes, and assists in developing those processes. The role involves working with the wider team to set the commercial win strategy for each tender.

The Senior Estimator plays an integral role in Mace Fit Out + Retrofit's success on all opportunities. Success in winning projects depends on passion, ingenuity, enthusiasm, good organization, and clear communication during the tendering process.

The role requires full knowledge of opportunity requirements at all tender stages, coordination among all parties involved, and managing the process to ensure all elements for a robust, competitive bid are ready and submitted by the deadline.

The Senior Estimator is responsible for managing supply chain relations, developing these relationships, and providing feedback to subcontractors to improve their competitiveness.

This role involves attending and contributing to tender workshops, implementing new preconstruction procedures, and developing strong relationships with delivery teams. A proactive, forward-thinking personal management style is essential.

The candidate will work seamlessly with delivery teams, lead estimating and commercial submissions, and ensure market-leading commercial proposals.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing multiple tender submissions at various stages, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Using estimating software (Excel/Causeway) for bid comparisons and analysis.
• Reviewing tender information comprehensively and preparing summary documents.
• Developing supply chain bid lists and strategies, attending start-up meetings, and finalizing supply chain selections.
• Contributing to bid strategy and risk assessments, evaluating project costs, and preparing tender documents.
• Attending site visits, mid-bid meetings, and tender workshops.
• Preparing RFIs, queries, addendums, and evaluating supply chain bids.
• Formulating and issuing cost evaluations, risk registers, and opportunity schedules.
• Preparing final tender submissions, participating in settlement meetings, and following up post-submission.
• Investigating new technology and industry developments, and developing personal skills.

Required skills and experience:

• Understanding of construction costs, measurement, and design processes.
• Experience in tendering, cost estimation, and procurement, especially for projects over £15m.
• Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and BIM tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, risk management, and sector-specific standards.
