About the Role

As a Senior Estimating Engineer - you will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for multi-utility projects, supporting our pre-construction activities and contributing to the successful delivery of our services.


What you will be doing:

  • Developing detailed cost estimates for projects, including electricity, gas, water, and telecommunications.

  • Analysing project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.

  • Collaborating with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements and company objectives.

  • Engaging with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and assess market rates.

  • Identifying and evaluating project risks and opportunities to inform pricing strategies.

  • Supporting the preparation of tender submissions and client proposals.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and market trends.

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating function.

What you will bring:

  • Desirable Qualifications & Professional Memberships:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CICES).

Desirable Knowledge & Experience:

  • Extensive experience in estimating within the utilities or construction sectors.

  • Strong understanding of multi-utility infrastructure projects and associated cost drivers.

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard contracts and procurement processes.
