About Alliance Norse

Alliance Norse is a partnership between Norse Group, High Peak Borough Council, and Staffordshire Moorlands District Council. The Joint Venture (JV) was formed in 2022 to provide various services to the Councils. From 1st April 2025, the JV will also include Estates & Asset Management functions.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Estates Technician/Surveyor to join our Estates Management team at our partner offices, responsible for supporting the delivery of Estate & Asset Management services.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assist with general practice work, following professional guidance and standards, under supervision of professional staff.
  2. Advise clients on land and property management transactions and portfolio management, identifying development/disposal opportunities.
  3. Maintain property records and handle client/external enquiries.
  4. Manage occupation of client land by lease or licence, including risk assessments.
  5. Negotiate and settle non-complex property transactions such as leases, renewals, tenancies, rent reviews, surrenders, licences, easements, and legal interests.
  6. Inspect and measure properties.
  7. Advise on acquisitions and disposals, prepare property particulars, and supervise marketing efforts.
  8. Negotiate schedules of condition and dilapidations.
  9. Assist with valuations for various purposes like rental, capital, disposal, acquisition, and accounting.
  10. Prepare instructions for solicitors, contractors, bailiffs, and monitor progress.
  11. Draft committee reports and briefings; attend meetings as needed.
  12. Ensure compliance with Norse Group ISO standards and deliver quality outputs.
  13. Perform other duties appropriate to the role, including travel to other offices.
Candidate Requirements
  • Professional qualification in a property-related discipline or working towards it.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience within a Local Authority environment is preferred.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
