Interim Estates Surveyor - Up to £350/day - Local Authority

Carrington West is supporting a forward-thinking Local Authority in their search for an Interim Estates Surveyor to join their dynamic property team.

Contract Details:

  1. Rate: Up to £350 per day (Inside IR35)
  2. Location: Town Centre Offices
  3. Working Pattern: Hybrid - Flexible hours with Tuesdays & Thursdays office-based
  4. Duration: Initial 3-6 months with potential for extension

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert property advice across a diverse estate portfolio
  2. Lead on acquisitions, disposals, and estate management matters
  3. Represent the Council in negotiations with developers, businesses, and public sector partners
  4. Drive income generation and identify opportunities for efficiencies and savings
  5. Deliver accurate asset valuations and manage investment properties in line with legislation

Essential Requirements:

  1. Full MRICS Membership - Chartered Surveyor status is essential
  2. Proven Estates Management Experience - Not just general surveying
  3. Strong understanding of Landlord & Tenant legislation, estate management procedures, and local authority asset valuation
  4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
  5. Ability to work corporately and influence key stakeholders across public sector bodies
