Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Estates Operations Manager to lead the Estates Management Team across a large, multi-site NHS Trust. The role provides strategic and operational oversight of healthcare estate services to ensure safe, compliant and reliable infrastructure that supports patient safety and clinical operations.

The post requires expertise in HTMs/HBNs, statutory compliance and best practice in estates and facilities management.

Qualifications

Authorised person certificate in at least 3 disciplines.
Knowledge of a wide range of facilities including Asbestos, COSHH, Infection Prevention and Control, Decontamination, Incineration, Legionella, Waste Management, Pressure Systems, Steam Systems, HVAC, Electrical Systems, and the built environment.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with statutory and healthcare technical guidance; follow inspections, testing, maintenance records and risk controls.
Manage a team; ensure competencies are current and HTM requirements are met.
Address planned and reactive maintenance; move service from reactive to planned/predictive.
Manage budgets and ensure value for money; support capital planning.
Produce performance reports with clear data and narrative and engage stakeholders across disciplines.
