Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Estates Officer (Mechanical) to provide Authorised Person cover, technical leadership, and specialist support for the Trust’s mechanical infrastructure across multiple sites, including Stoke Mandeville Hospital. You will ensure safety, resilience and compliance while guiding operational teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Working towards or holding Authorised Person status in relevant discipline.
• Thorough knowledge of HTMs, HBNs, water safety and NHS estates standards.
• Lead AP training/appointment or ability to achieve within timescale.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership to Estates staff, contractors and project teams.
• Act as Authorised Person for one or more mechanical disciplines as required.
• Contribute to planned and reactive maintenance, compliance, and capital projects.
• Support the Senior Mechanical Engineering Manager to maintain safe, compliant services.
• Engage with cross-site operations and ensure adherence to IMS and governance.
