Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Estates Manager to lead a team delivering safe electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building fabric services across Trust buildings. You will ensure compliance with HTMs, HBNs, British Standards and Trust policies.

The role requires strong leadership, maintenance planning, and hands-on management of both in-house and contracted works within a hospital environment across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Engineering Related HND in Electrical or mechanical services, engineering or building skills or equivalent qualification and experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Short courses and experience to Masters Level.
• Apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical, plumbing or building trade.
• Membership of a professional organisation e.g. IET, CIBSE, etc
• Experience managing health and safety in a maintenance environment.
• Demonstrable management / supervision experience.
• Demonstrable experience of maintenance planning and management.
• Competent with CMMS and management of Reactive and PPM work.
• Knowledge and experience of Handheld devices for use with CMMS.
• Authorised Person or equivalent for engineering installations or systems.
• In-depth knowledge of statutory compliance.
• Awareness of health and safety in a maintenance environment.
• Sound knowledge of NHS technical documents, British standards, regulations, legislation, and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and monitor engineering and building services and systems.
• Advise on mechanical, electrical and building fabric services and systems, regulatory compliance, and risks to business continuity.
• Identify backlog maintenance issues and develop rolling maintenance/PM plans.
• Manage delivery of small/minor works with cost efficiency and safety.
• Conduct audits and site visits to verify contract compliance and Trust policies.
• Monitor workmanship standards and take remedial actions.
• Chair meetings and lead negotiations with customers and suppliers.
• Manage in-house staff in line with Trust policies.
• Communicate with Estates staff, senior management and clinical staff; liaise with site/ward management.
• Ensure estates jobs are updated in the system and progressing with services.
