RPS is looking for a Senior Consultant (ESG) to join our leading Environmental team. The role involves developing effective environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies and solutions for clients, while helping develop new opportunities.

Who we're looking for

Experience in delivering consulting work across multiple areas, including at least two of the following: climate change and Net Zero Carbon, natural capital, sustainability strategy and engagement, responsible sourcing, supply chain sustainability, social-ethical labor and human rights issues, environmental compliance, producer responsibility, H&S and welfare, governance systems, EHS management systems, waste/water management, and biodiversity.

Advising clients on climate action, carbon footprinting, NZC programmes, offsetting, TCFD reporting, SBTi setting, and related activities.

Strong technical knowledge of current and upcoming UK legislation related to environmental, social, and governance regulations, policy, guidance, procedures, and industry-specific operational regulations.

Knowledge and experience applying environmental liability and sustainability principles across various sectors.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong commercial acumen.

Good communication and presentation skills, ability to build and maintain relationships, and strong organizational skills to prioritize workload.

Professional qualifications: Degree (BSc/BEng) in a relevant subject, preferably with a Masters (MSc) or postgraduate qualification. Chartered membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., IEMA, IES) is preferred or in progress.
