Key role-specific accountabilities

• Support the MGG Head of ESG Compliance with compliance advisory and oversight activities related to sustainability regulation and commitments.
• Provide high-quality advice and independent challenge on sustainability to help the business meet regulations and industry standards.
• Represent ESG Compliance on sustainability-related committees and working groups, and cascade information appropriately.
• Conduct monthly horizon scanning of sustainability regulatory developments, prepare reports, and chair the horizon scan working group.
• Support compliance aspects of sustainability regulatory change projects.
• Provide and support training on sustainability compliance topics.
• Collaborate with M&G regional Compliance teams on sustainability compliance implementation and management.
• Support regional and global sustainability initiatives and projects with compliance expertise.
• Contribute to the Compliance Monitoring & Assurance Team regarding sustainability issues.
• Demonstrate understanding of business priorities and expectations.

Key knowledge, skills, and experience

Minimum requirements:

• Broad understanding of sustainability regulatory regimes in the EU and UK, with general knowledge of US and Asia-Pacific environments relevant to asset management.
• Good knowledge of the wider financial services sector, including competitors, products, and services.
• 7+ years of experience in Compliance and/or Regulatory Development roles.

Desirable requirements:

• Excellent understanding of the business, economic, regulatory, and market environment in which M&G plc operates.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in regulatory development horizon scanning.
• Good understanding of Sustainability Finance regulations such as SFDR, EU Taxonomy, SDR, and FCA anti-greenwashing rules.
• Knowledge of corporate sustainability reporting and disclosure regulations like TCFD, CSRD, and ISSB.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualifications/experience and/or professional qualification.
