Job Description:

Senior Equipment Engineer
Northampton – Must drive due to location
Highly Competitive salary plus incredible employee benefits

Responsibilities:

• Equipment improvements and upgrades and assistance with installations
• Working on MOVPE and associated equipment to minimize downtime during production, including phosphorous trap and gas cylinder changes using self-contained breathing apparatus SCBA (training will be provided, must be clean shaven)
• Fork lift truck driving (training will be provided)
• Oversee chemical, gases and spare parts control, chemical fills and waste management
• Instruct and advise shift personnel regarding procedures and solutions
• Assist with logistic projects, e.g., equipment relocation, cleanroom reorganization, shipping
• Assist with shutdown activities. Some weekend overtime is required
• Liaison with equipment and spares suppliers and specialist service providers, including supervision of external contractors and field service engineers
• Develop and deliver preventative maintenance strategies to maximize equipment utilization and uptime

Qualifications:

• An HNC or Degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
• Electrical qualifications such as BSth edition are advantageous
• Experience with low and high voltage electrical systems
• Basic understanding of pneumatic systems and PLC operation & use
• Ability to read and understand equipment wiring schematics
• Familiarity with hazardous chemicals and gases
• Previous experience with MOVPE reactors or CVD/semiconductor equipment
• Experience with wet or dry exhaust gas abatement systems
