University Of Oxford invites applications for a Senior Epidemiologist and Science Team Lead to head the UK Biobank Epidemiology Group's Science Team in Oxford. The postholder will oversee review activities and contribute epidemiological expertise to the continued development and use of the UK Biobank resource.

You will have protected time to develop and lead epidemiological research using UK Biobank’s genetic, phenotypic and linked health data.

a Senior Epidemiologist to lead the Science Team within the UK Biobank Epidemiology Group. The postholder will lead the team, oversee its review activities and contribute epidemiological expertise to the continued development and effective use of the UK Biobank resource. Alongside these responsibilities, the postholder will have protected time to develop and lead epidemiological research using UK Biobank’s genetic, phenotypic and linked health data. The post is based at the Big Data Institute within the Nuffield Department of Population Health and reports to Associate Professor Ben Lacey, who leads the UK Biobank Epidemiology Group. To be considered you must hold a PhD in epidemiology, statistics or a related subject. You will have extensive experience in the design, analysis and interpretation of large-scale cohort studies and extensive experience in the formal assessment of research applications within established governance and review frameworks. You will have proven ability to gather requirements to streamline/optimise processes, or identify opportunities to optimise services. This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 2 years.
