Job summary

Thales in Belfast is hiring a Senior Environmental Test Engineer to lead complex trials and environmental testing for defence systems. You will manage end-to-end activities, from test plan development to data analysis and high-quality reporting.

The role requires hands-on instrument work, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and travel across the UK and internationally. Based in Belfast with occasional hybrid work, you will engage with customers and suppliers, oversee test facilities, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Math with UK driving licence and travel willingness.
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation, signal conditioning and data acquisition systems.
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to interpret test results and provide evidence-based conclusions.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality test procedures and technical reports.
• Strong Excel skills and data processing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of complex trials and test programmes.
• Own end-to-end test and trial activities from plans to analysis and reporting.
• Prepare, integrate and validate missiles and related equipment for trials and customer practice firings.
• Conduct climatic, shock, vibration and environmental testing with expert instrumentation.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions.
• Take ownership of work packages and customer-facing activities at Thales sites and ranges.
