Senior Environmental Scientist – Land Contamination

We have a great opportunity for a senior environmental scientist to join our growing environmental science team. The role involves assessing contaminants in land, water, and air for various projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in environmental science, geology, chemistry, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate degree in a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Certification as a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) and working towards becoming a Site Contamination Specialist.
  • At least eight years of relevant experience, either in New Zealand or internationally.
  • Ability to lead land contamination assessment projects with support from the team.
  • Experience in land contamination analysis, including field investigation techniques for various site scenarios.
  • Capability to prepare technical assessments for environmental projects like subdivision and resource consent applications, and due diligence assessments.
  • Proactive in seeking new work opportunities and leading proposal preparations.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external clients.
  • Honesty, humility, and a diligent attitude.
  • Friendly, respectful, and team-oriented interpersonal skills.
  • Drive to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and initiative.
  • Enthusiasm for environmental science and a desire for professional growth.
