It is an exciting time at AtkinsRéalis, with opportunities ranging from designing new reactor technologies and fusion power development to licensing and constructing new power stations within the UK and overseas. We are looking for Senior Environmental Specialists passionate about working in the UK nuclear industry to join our new Environment, Waste and Radiological Services group.

What you’ll be doing:

You will work on various technical projects within a team specializing in Environmental Services and Waste Strategy Consultancy. Your responsibilities include supporting UK new build clients, providing expert advice, and delivering environmental and waste management documentation to ensure compliance with nuclear site licences and environmental permits.

You will also support other UK clients at defence facilities, power stations, and decommissioning sites. There will be opportunities to apply your UK industry knowledge to overseas projects and international clients. The role will help you develop management skills by leading team members on projects. You will also enhance your technical and project skills through targeted training, mentorship, and professional development.

Ideally, applicants will be:

• Experienced or aware of environmental permitting, BAT assessments, waste management strategies, radioactive waste characterization, dose modeling, or contaminated land management.
• Skilled in staff management, client liaison, and bid development.
• Energized by developing and managing others, enjoying collaboration at client sites and in offices.
• Experienced in the nuclear industry.
• Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
