Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Senior Environmental Health Officer in Morecambe to lead environmental protection services, investigate complaints, and guide teams in complex cases.

You will provide expert regulatory advice, prepare technical reports for stakeholders and ensure compliance with environmental legislation, while mentoring colleagues and developing improvements to public health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health.
• Registered with CIEH Environmental Health Practitioner Registration Scheme or via EHRB or other relevant professional body.
• Significant experience working within Environmental Health or Environmental Protection.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory practices.
• Experience managing complex investigations and enforcement cases.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support the delivery of Environmental Protection services.
• Investigate statutory nuisance complaints, environmental pollution incidents, and public health concerns.
• Manage complex casework and ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
• Deliver air quality monitoring and environmental improvement initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports and provide professional advice to stakeholders, businesses, and residents.
• Undertake enforcement action where necessary, including evidence gathering and legal proceedings.
• Support, mentor, and develop colleagues within the team.

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Health Officer to play a key role in protecting public health, improving environmental standards, and supporting the delivery of high-quality environmental protection services across the district.

Key Responsibilities
