Job Description:

Overview: This is a 3-4 month contract with a local authority.

Job Purpose:

  • To be a responsible member of the Service, reporting to the Team Manager, supervising up to 10 staff, and deputising when necessary.
  • To contribute as part of the Residential Services Section team.
  • To undertake duties appropriate to the Section as required.
  • To complete work programmes and tasks set by the Team Manager.
  • To assist in managing staff to ensure performance targets are met.
Key Duties/Accountabilities:
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation, advise on enforcement actions, and prepare evidence in line with CPS Code of Practice, PACE, and other relevant legislation.
  • Provide expertise within the Section, especially on complex matters, and support Lead Officers and other staff on such cases.
  • Handle complaints, correspondence, statutory documents, and statistics related to the area of work.
Essential Experience:
  • Experience in Environmental Health Enforcement, including Domestic Noise Control and Nuisance.
  • Experience in Planning Application, Enforcement Work, and Appeals.
Essential Qualifications:
  • 3 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English and Mathematics, or equivalent.
  • Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent.
  • Relevant professional qualification/certification.

  • Working hours: 35 hours/week.
  • Role requires a DBS check.
