Job Advertisement: Senior Environmental Health Officer

Are you passionate about improving housing standards and protecting the health and safety of tenants? Join our client as a Senior Environmental Health Officer and make a real difference in the private rented sector of Croydon. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to lead a dedicated team and drive impactful projects.

Position: Senior Environmental Health Officer

Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Hourly Rate: £25.86 PAYE or £34.24 UMB - Negotiable

Working Pattern: Full Time

Driving Required: Yes

Location: Croydon

Responsibilities
  • Supervise a dynamic team of up to 6 FTE, including Environmental Health Officers, Housing Enforcement Officers, and Property Licensing Officers.
  • Conduct inspections and enforce statutory actions to ensure compliance with housing standards.
  • Provide expert advice to landlords, tenants, and stakeholders on private sector housing regulations.
  • Initiate legal actions, including prosecutions, against non-compliant landlords.
  • Lead investigations of complaints and implement proactive projects to enhance the renting experience.
  • Administer property licensing schemes to uphold high standards in housing.
  • Engage with various stakeholders, including the general public, contractors, and housing charities.
