Job summary

Mactech Inspection Ltd. is seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to support the construction team at Hinkley Point C in Somerset. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with UK environmental obligations and implementing the EMS across project activities.

You will identify environmental risks, promote sustainable practices, and collaborate with the central environment team to share learnings and strengthen site performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of UK regulatory framework and environmental obligations on construction projects.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 audit requirements and EMS implementation.
• Understanding sustainable development principles applied to site operations.
• Experience managing Environmental Management Systems in construction projects.
• Practical environmental management experience on construction sites (3+ years).

Responsibilities

• Support the construction team to ensure compliance with environmental obligations.
• Identify, assess and control environmental risks on the project.
• Promote innovations to achieve environmental objectives.
• Coordinate with site environmental teams to share learning and ensure requirements are met.
• Implement EMS requirements and support EMS updates as needed.
• Conduct audits and inspections, record findings, and close out actions.
