Job summary

Senior Environmental Advisor role supporting two major UK infrastructure programmes, working with project managers, operational teams, clients, regulators and supply chain partners to provide trusted advice and reduce environmental impact.

Role involves influencing projects from planning through delivery, leading inspections and audits, and driving practical actions to improve environmental performance and sustainability across complex programmes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an environmental advisory role within construction, infrastructure, utilities or a similar operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and management systems, with experience in inspections, audits, monitoring and investigations.
• Confident influencer with ability to engage site teams, project managers, clients, regulators and external stakeholders.
• Major infrastructure experience across large-scale projects and operations.
• Desirable environmental qualification/degree and professional membership; full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Influence major projects by providing expert environmental advice from planning and pre-construction through to delivery.
• Drive environmental performance with site inspections, audits and monitoring, identifying opportunities and ensuring actions are delivered.
• Manage risk and compliance by advising on environmental risks, controls, legislation and client requirements to maintain high standards.
• Turn challenges into solutions by supporting investigations into incidents, complaints and non-conformances, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
• Champion better ways of working by developing initiatives that improve sustainability and promote best practice across major infrastructure programmes.
