Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet business waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This is an agile role, with up to 50% UK-wide travel.

What you’ll do:

• Provide specialist guidance and advice to EHS teams and Project leads on environment and sustainability to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Support risk management by defining and implementing an environmental assurance regime, including risk-based audits, ensuring effective audit and assurance practices through inspections and audits.
• Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
• Support the development and maintenance of performance data and provide carbon management reports for customer and contract needs.
• Ensure regular reviews of key Business Unit environmental aspects and impacts, including climate change risks.
• Help Bid, Design, and Operational Teams embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout the Project Life Cycle.

Who you are:

You will have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within relevant industries such as Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Construction.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum Qualification - PIEMA
• ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor certification
• Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
• Proven track record of reducing environmental impacts of equipment and infrastructure through product lifecycle stages
• Experience managing and delivering complex technical projects and change initiatives
• Full driving license and willingness to travel across the UK
