A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for a Senior Environmental Advisor to support its Energy South team on high-voltage and substation projects. This is a key role combining traditional environmental advisory responsibilities with a focus on managing and supporting environmental consents.
Work on nationally significant infrastructure projects with a focus on sustainability and innovation
Take ownership of environmental permitting and DCO-related tasks across the project lifecycle
Join a collaborative and experienced environmental team with a strong development culture
Opportunity to grow into a more senior or specialist role over time
Provide advice on environmental compliance, sustainability, and risk across projects
Manage or support construction-related consents, permits, and licenses (e.g., EA, ecology, LA approvals)
Liaise with statutory bodies to ensure timely approvals and compliance with legal frameworks
Support environmental assessments, audits, and incident response in line with ISO 14001
Promote best practices and continuous improvement across the team
Experience in an environmental role within infrastructure, civil engineering, or utilities
Familiarity with English permitting systems and DCO-related processes
Confident working with regulators and multi-disciplinary project teams
A degree or equivalent in an environmental or ecological discipline
A full UK driving licence – this is a field-based role
£50,000 – £60,000 base salary
£400/month car allowance
