We have a fantastic opportunity within our Energy and Water business for an ambitious and talented Senior Environmental Advisor.

The successful candidate will be joining an existing team of passionate and dedicated individuals working in the Energy sector.

We are looking for Senior Environmental Advisors who have extensive knowledge in managing environmental risk throughout the lifecycle of projects to provide technical support to project teams.

Experience or knowledge of energy (including gas) transmission, renewable/green energy infrastructure, flood defence, water and wastewater works, ports, and general complex civils including tunnelling from £10M upwards to major project values would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Environmental Advisor, you will be required to:

1. Provide subject matter expertise in identifying environmental risks and mitigation, promoting best practice solutions.
2. Offer technical support in measuring project carbon footprint and identifying carbon reduction opportunities.
3. Work effectively within a high-performing team and communicate at all levels of the business.
4. Manage the process of obtaining necessary environmental consents, licences, or exemptions.
5. Manage and mentor new environmental advisors or graduates.
6. Work well under pressure and manage internal and client deadlines.
7. Possess thorough knowledge of compliance with environmental legislation and ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems and its implementation.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent in a relevant field, with experience in providing technical support and advice to project teams, undertaking environmental monitoring, audits, delivering training, and mentoring, supporting continuous improvement in environmental performance.
