Job Description

Environmental Advisors support the implementation of our Policies and Strategies to deliver legislative compliance and promote continuous improvement in environmental management. They lead the environmental agenda for the organization as trusted advocates by providing visible leadership, specialist advice, coaching, and engagement to support the business.

1. Evaluate, improve, and develop environmental management systems, processes, and procedures.
2. Liaise with external parties and regulators, such as the Environmental Agency.
3. Oversee all environmental data, in line with internal and external reporting requirements.
4. Develop meaningful strategies to promote positive change in all aspects of environmental management and behaviors.
5. Support our net zero ambition for our business and customers.
6. Provide specialist advice on all business environmental aspects and impacts, including waste, water management, permits, and licenses.
7. Lead on our ISO 14001 accreditation.
8. Support environmental internal and external audits.
9. Assist in investigating significant environmental incidents.
10. Benchmark externally, seeking out areas of best practice and continual improvement.

Qualifications

• Have exceptional knowledge of environmental legislation and applied controls.
• Experience in providing environmental advice in both office and field environments.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and improving environmental management systems in line with ISO 14001.
• Possess excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability and confidence to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Have the courage and confidence to challenge issues and behaviors.
• Ability to convey complex information simply, effectively, and plainly.
• Attention to detail, with the ability to work within strict deadlines.
