Midlands Hybrid Working (45 hour working week - 7:30 to 5:30)

Irwin and Colton are delighted to announce that we have been engaged by a leading civil engineering and utilities specialist. The role will involve leading on environmental compliance and ensuring sustainability strategy across the business's wide portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting inspections, audits, and incident investigations, maintaining accurate records, reporting on environmental KPIs, and supporting continuous improvement in environmental performance.
  • Providing advice and guidance to operational and project teams on environmental and sustainability matters, ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to secure necessary licences, maintain compliance, and promote new environmental and sustainability initiatives.
  • Developing and implementing environmental and sustainability strategies for the wider business, aligning with organisational goals and driving continuous improvement in performance.
Requirements
  • Proven environmental and sustainability experience, preferably within the utilities, civils, or related sectors.
  • Degree-level qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant environmental discipline.
  • Ideally, membership of a recognised professional environmental body (such as ISEP, CIEEM, or CIWEM).
  • A strong commitment to excellence, with the ambition to grow and develop a career within the environmental field.
