Senior Enterprise Risk Manager - Assets

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Risk Manager to join the EU and UK Wise Risk team, focusing on enabling our Wise Assets product to meet its strategic objectives. This is a second line role reporting to the Head of Risk - EU & UK.

What you’ll be doing

• Partner with the Head of Risk - EU & UK and the wider Risk organization to deliver the Risk Management program for Wise Assets.
• Manage Risk Management Policies, frameworks, and assessments, including reviewing, updating, and ensuring compliance with business, stakeholder, and regulatory expectations.
• Draft policies as needed, socialize internally, and oversee approval and implementation.
• Implement and localize Enterprise Risk Methodology and Framework Policies for EU and UK requirements.
• Guide and oversee risk assessments for the Wise Assets business.
• Compile risk insights for global committees, ensuring data-driven risk profiles and insights.
• Create periodic risk reports for EU and UK governance committees, highlighting risks and mitigation actions.
• Report on issues where risk frameworks are not properly implemented or functioning as expected.
• Monitor risks trending outside of appetite or not aligned with the risk profile.
• Provide qualitative and quantitative reports on issues impacting the business, including remediation updates.
• Assist stakeholders in utilizing risk management methodologies effectively.
• Map controls and oversee control assurance activities.
• Provide risk advice on product solutions and mitigation strategies.
• Track and deliver progress on risk management programs and milestones.
• Coordinate with internal audit and oversight functions on risk issues and remediation plans.
• Own issue management for Wise Assets, driving remediation and compliance.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and operational controls, driving efficiency through automation and process improvements.
• Stay updated on industry developments and regulations.
• Develop and deliver risk training across Wise Assets EU and UK.
• Liaise with global risk functions and regional business units.

What you’ll bring

• 7-12 years of experience in risk management within EU and/or UK financial services.
• Preferably experience in a 2LOD risk management role for investment companies in the EU.
• Experience implementing enterprise risk management programs.
• Understanding of key risks across operational, financial, strategic, and intersecting risks.
• Strong knowledge of systems, management information, and reporting tools.
• Proven track record of independence and challenge in a second line of defense role.
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
