Job summary

The University of Manchester is seeking two Principal Architects to shape and deliver the architectural direction across a major portfolio of change and transformation. You will influence enterprise-wide initiatives and contribute to long-term technology strategy through architecture planning, governance and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in enterprise architecture or architecture leadership within a large organisation.
• Strong understanding of business architecture, applications, data, integration and security.
• Experience presenting to senior stakeholders with evidence-based recommendations.
• Track record of developing roadmaps, target states and transformation plans.
• Experience with architecture governance and design decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Shape architecture strategy and roadmap development across a major value stream.
• Develop and maintain architecture blueprints and future-state visions.
• Build partnerships with stakeholders and advise on architectural matters.
• Provide guidance to programmes/projects to ensure alignment with standards.
• Identify opportunities for simplification, reuse and continuous improvement.
• Support governance and assurance activities and key decision processes.
• Share insights on emerging technologies to enhance teaching and research.
• Coach and develop Business Service Architects and Business Analysts.
