Job summary

A leading construction firm in the UK is seeking a Senior Engineering Surveyor to join their infrastructure team. The role involves supporting engineering management, developing survey teams, and ensuring survey control for construction projects. Candidates should have a degree or ONC/B Tec in Land Surveying or Engineering Surveying and relevant experience. This position primarily operates on-site, with initial work based in St Neots and later at Thurrock.

Job description

Skanska, one of the world’s leading project development and construction groups, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society.

Skanska has teamed up with National Highways to deliver the A47 road improvement scheme to reduce congestion and improve safety on the A47. As such, we are looking for a Senior Engineering Surveyor to join our infrastructure team. The role will primarily be based on-site, with initial work at our A428 office in St Neots, followed by a transfer to our A47 office in Thurrock.

What you'll do:

• Support the Chief Engineering surveyor and or the Engineering survey manager in co-ordination across all technical work streams
• Develop the engineering survey teams to meet project needs.
• Ensure that the project have the appropriate survey control network to fulfil the construction requirements.
• Setting out the works in accordance with the contract requirements before work is programmed to commence.

What you'll bring to the role:

• Degree in Land Surveying or Engineering Surveying, orONC/B Tec in Land Surveying or Engineering Surveying and previous experience as an Senior Engineering Surveyor
• Extensive awareness of appropriate survey instruments, software and working methods.
• Full professional Membership of CICES or equivalent body
• Commercial acumen
