Job summary

DeepL is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for Voice for Meetings to lead a small, senior team delivering DeepL's real-time AI voice products. • You have led teams building real time systems, streaming, or distributed architectures.

• You understand ML systems in production, data drift, and model realities.
• You think independently and drive ownership across teams.
• You have strong product and commercial instinct guiding engineering trade-offs.
• You adapt when priorities are unclear and balance competing needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and grow a small team of senior engineers, owning hiring, performance, and career development.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of real-time voice features from architecture through to production.
• Own the technical direction for the team's systems and engage in coding when helpful.
• Collaborate with the Principal Product Manager and senior tech lead to shape what gets built.
• Bridge inference, preprocessing, and training data drift with product delivery commitments.
• Make and communicate clear technical trade-offs under latency and quality constraints.
• Spot risks beyond remit and fix them to strengthen teams around you.
• Build a high-agency, low-bureaucracy culture with genuine ownership.
