Job description

We are on a mission to become the leading international force in residential property management. What we do matters to billions of people in their everyday lives.

Residential real estate is the world’s largest asset class, and for most families, buying a home is the single biggest financial decision they will ever make. For too long, residential property management has fallen short of homeowners’ and residents’ expectations, and the industry is ready for change. Odevo was formed to make that change happen.

In just six years, Odevo has grown more than 70‑fold, establishing us as the leading international player. We are more than 12,000 people across the US, the UK, the Nordics, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and Italy building Odevo. Together, we aspire to break new ground through innovation and cultivate a workplace where we help each other succeed, where ideas matter more than titles, and where kindness is a strength.

By combining the power of people and technology, we set a new standard for how homes are managed. Our technology‐enabled services simplify living for residents and create a better experience for property owners and boards.

Our ambition is to continue our fast‐growing journey through new customers, service expansion, and by partnering with great companies that share our mindset and ambition, both in existing and new markets.

As we continue to grow, we stay true to who we are, challenge unnecessary bureaucracy, and keep decision‐making close to our customers.

If you share our mindset and ambition, we’d love you to join us and help accelerate our mission together.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering across our UK Value Stream — one of Odevo’s most strategically important and technically complex domains.

The UK business spans multiple product lines, internally developed platforms, and acquired SaaS solutions serving both customers and operational teams. This ecosystem is critical to enabling scale and customer value across one of our largest markets.

This is not a greenfield environment. The technology landscape has evolved through growth and acquisitions. Success here means bringing clarity to complexity: modernising where it matters, integrating where it adds value, and helping teams make pragmatic decisions that build long‐term foundations.

As Senior Engineering Manager, you will help shape the technical direction and operating model for the UK domain, reporting to the Global Head of Engineering and working closely with Product, Architecture, Operations, and business stakeholders.

AI is a key part of how Odevo builds and operates. You will identify where AI and automation create meaningful value — in customer‐facing capabilities, operational efficiency, and engineering productivity — and ensure we adopt emerging technologies thoughtfully and with measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead and develop engineering teams across multiple products, creating clarity, alignment, and momentum.
  • Build a high‐performing and inclusive engineering culture where teams take ownership, collaborate effectively, and deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Coach and mentor engineers and technical leads at all levels, supporting technical excellence and career growth.
  • Own the performance and development cycle: expectations, feedback, and progression.
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to attract, hire, and onboard exceptional engineering talent.
  • Foster strong engineering communities and knowledge sharing across teams. Lead by example — contributing to technical discussions, architecture trade‐offs, and delivery planning where it adds value.
Technical Strategy & Delivery
  • Provide technical leadership across a complex technical landscape, navigating legacy systems, acquired platforms, integrations, and modernisation.
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and business stakeholders to define and evolve the UK technical roadmap.
  • Translate business objectives into clear engineering priorities.
  • Drive engineering excellence through strong practices in quality, observability, security, and operational ownership.
  • Identify and reduce technical debt, fragmentation, and duplication while supporting pragmatic delivery.
  • Champion modern technical practices: API‐first design, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud readiness, and scalable service architecture.
AI, Innovation & Modernisation
  • Drive AI and automation adoption across the UK value stream — identifying where it creates genuine value in product capabilities, workflows, and customer outcomes.
  • Ensure adoption is responsible and rigorous: data quality, security, compliance, and measurable business impact.
  • Create space for experimentation without losing focus on what actually moves the business forward.
Cross‐functional Collaboration
  • Act as the key engineering partner for the UK value stream, aligning with Product, Operations, Commercial, and Customer Success.
  • Represent engineering in planning, prioritisation, and strategic discussions — communicating progress, risks, and trade‐offs clearly.
  • Make technical complexity understandable to non‐technical stakeholders.
  • Build alignment across acquired product teams and central technology functions.
Who You Are

You are a proven engineering leader with a track record in complex, multi‐product environments — including environments shaped by acquisitions, legacy systems, or platform modernisation. You are comfortable moving between strategic discussions, organisational leadership, and technical decision‐making, with the credibility to engage meaningfully at each level. You understand how to balance technical quality with business priorities and operational realities, and you communicate trade‐offs clearly to engineers and executives alike. You are passionate about building great teams and creating environments where people grow and do their best work. And you bring genuine excitement about AI and emerging technology.

Qualifications
  • Significant experience leading software engineering teams across multiple products or domains.
  • Strong background in hands‐on software development.
  • Experience with complex product ecosystems that include legacy platforms, acquired products, integrations, and modernisation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices: cloud architecture, APIs, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and security.
  • Experience modernising platforms within the Microsoft/.NET ecosystem is a strong advantage.
  • SaaS or product‐led environment experience is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, Microsoft technologies, data platforms, or AI tooling is a plus.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
What We Offer
  • Professional growth – to work with the most talented developers in the industry.
  • Modern technology – we invest in the latest technologies and tools and encourage our team members to share their ideas and take ownership of their work.
  • Innovation – to work on exciting projects that push the boundaries of our industry and make a real impact.
  • Commitment to quality – a dynamic and forward‐thinking company that values profitable and long‐term product development.
