Overview

Times are changing here at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals! We need you to come and help us evolve our forward-thinking and innovative Engineering Management Team.

As Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll need to have both the experience and skills to navigate our complex state of the art facilities whilst also maintaining our older estates, which come with challenges of their own. There’s 172,000 square metres of it, but if you’re up to the challenge, it’s an extremely rewarding role where no two days are the same and you will be part of a fantastic team. You have the opportunity to come in and make a difference through the changes you identify and will be involved in projects and activity which see us safely support future generations to come.

To ensure we have capacity, we’ve increased funding to bring in extra Engineers to work with you, so you can develop the team further given our exciting future ahead. We promote and encourage professional development which allows for those with the relevant experience to join us and continue with their career development through education and training.

Responsibilities
  • Lead our in-house maintenance team with overall responsibility for managing the Engineering Department, ensuring all building services and equipment are compliant with statutory legislation and guidance.
  • Our team consists of Mechanical / Electrical / Plumbing trades supported via Engineering Managers, all of whom are in-house and directly employed NHS staff. We are also supported via external contracts with specialist providers where necessary.
  • Lead and support the team with clear communication, engagement and continued professional development of staff through performance management and training.
Requirements / Experience
  • Demonstrate previous experience in planning and managing maintenance of building services in large complex buildings.
  • Be available to work 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday; on-call duties to support on-site staff out of hours. On-call payments of approximately x amount and will be in addition to your basic salary.
  • Experience within NHS environments and engineering management context is desirable.
