Job summary

Wise seeks a Senior Engineering Lead to helm the Risk API Team within the Servicing Platform Squad. You will drive architectural strategy, define API contracts, and scale a high-impact team responsible for real-time risk assessment across transactions and user behavior.

In this role, you will partner with Product, FinCrime and other engineering leads, hire and mentor 5+ engineers, and set standards for data governance, reliability and performance in a globally distributed system.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to define and own architectural roadmap for a mission-critical platform.
• Experience scaling and mentoring engineering teams (5+ engineers).
• Strong collaboration with Product, FinCrime, and other engineering leads.
• Experience building scalable product or service platforms in risk domain.

Responsibilities

• Architect the core Risk API and define robust contracts.
• Formalize the immutable logging for risk evaluations and auditability.
• Scale the team and establish engineering standards and processes.
• Align architecture with business agility and security requirements.
