Soil Engineering is seeking candidates to oversee operational site control of geotechnical contracts across the UK. Ideal applicants will have extensive experience in the industry, manage budgets effectively, and maintain strong client relationships. A full UK driving license and excellent communication skills are essential.
We are looking for candidates who can manage day-to-day operational site control of contracts of varying sizes within the UK, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, cost control, performance to programme, and customer service.
Candidates will maintain commercial awareness to ensure the company is not exposed financially and to achieve full margins from operational activities. They will manage contracts to ensure they perform in line with the budget and maintain a motivated, effective, and safety-conscious workforce. Additionally, candidates will ensure good client relations and that clients' requirements are met to maximize opportunities for repeat business.
We seek qualified candidates with significant experience in the geotechnical industry, with a solid understanding of ground conditions, drilling, and site investigation works.
Applicants should have a good understanding of geotechnical processes and contract management, with excellent written English skills and proficiency in professional correspondence. A customer-service focus, a professional approach, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to liaise effectively with clients and regional teams.
A full UK driving license is required.

Our experience of over 60 years enables us to undertake land and nearshore marine investigations, work in secure or high-risk environments, and handle a wide range of challenging projects.
Supporting our ground investigation services, we operate one of the country’s largest single-site geotechnical laboratories, UKAS accredited for over 40 test disciplines, providing testing for both internal and external projects. The laboratory also maintains in-situ testing capabilities, including CBR and plate bearing tests.
