Job summary

Eco Personnel (UK) LTD is seeking a Group Engineering & Fabrication Manager in North Nottinghamshire to own estimating, pricing, commercial decisions and team leadership across our engineering and fabrication activities, mainly in rail.

You will interpret drawings, set realistic costs, balance competitive pricing with margins, build customer relationships and drive profitable growth, with scope to shape strategy and delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in estimating and pricing welding and fabrication.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong commercial awareness including pricing, margins and risk.
• Experience leading or developing a team.
• Rail sector knowledge advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Own the estimates and quotations for subcontract welding and fabrication work.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specs and customer requirements for scope and pricing.
• Assess materials, labour and processes to price for profitability and viability.
• Evaluate enquiries, identify risks and decide pricing and competitiveness.
• Build and manage customer relationships and negotiate commercial terms.
• Lead and develop the engineering and fabrication team.
• Collaborate with production to reflect capabilities and delivery in estimates.
• Identify opportunities for profitable new business and growth.
• Develop estimating methods and pricing processes for better decision-making.
