About the role

At Balfour Beatty, we’re delivering infrastructure that transforms communities and connects people. We're currently looking for a highly capable Senior Engineer to join our Regional Civils team on the South Wokingham Distributor Road project. This is a key highways scheme that will improve regional connectivity and support local development.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leadership role on a live civil engineering project, managing site engineering delivery and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance across all construction phases.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

• Lead the site engineering team to deliver technical excellence on highways and associated infrastructure works
• Oversee setting out, surveying, and quality assurance processes
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, programmes, and safety standards
• Support planning, programming, and coordination of subcontractor activities
• Produce and review method statements, risk assessments, and ITPs
• Manage material approvals, construction records, and as-built documentation
• Provide engineering input to resolve design and construction challenges on site
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and supporting staff

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Demonstrable experience in a Senior Engineer or similar role on highways/civils projects
• Solid knowledge of setting out, earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, and utilities
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• Proficient in using surveying instruments and construction software
• CSCS card and SMSTS certification preferred
