About the role

SZC is owned by two shareholders, EDF and HMG, through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. The shareholdings will change over time. The shareholders will fund SZC until Financial Close, focusing on designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning the Sizewell C nuclear power plant and related infrastructure in Suffolk. Key objectives include completing capital raise plans, securing core supply chain contracts, and obtaining necessary permits and licenses.

Previously part of EDF's Nuclear Development business, SZC is transitioning to its own organization capable of delivering a new nuclear power plant, from investment to decommissioning.

What you'll be doing

The Senior Engineer will manage the development of optimized construction solutions for Earthworks and Enabling Works during the pre-construction phase, utilizing expertise in design, construction methods, temporary works, planning, logistics, and project management. The role involves collaborating with various teams to develop construction methodologies and support project budgets and schedules.

Who we're looking for

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience in complex project environments at Sub Agent / Site Agent level or equivalent
• Subject matter expertise (preferred)
• Chartered Engineer in Civil Engineering or equivalent (preferred)
• Broad site-based experience, including marine works or structural steel installation (desirable)
• Up-to-date knowledge of construction methodologies and industry safety standards
• Proficiency in project planning, digital models, and modern construction methods
• Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and facilitation skills

Qualifications & Experience

• Civil engineering degree or equivalent
• Incorporated or Chartered Engineer in Civil Engineering or equivalent (preferred)
