We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Senior Process Engineer based at either our Exeter or Bristol offices, with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Principal Process Engineer and your role will be to provide superior quality engineering design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking into account health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards related to the contract.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Produce cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are feasible for construction and commissioning. Consider all associated costs including design time, materials, erection, and impacts on other disciplines.
- Utilize standard practices where possible to maintain competitiveness and provide estimates and feedback to the proposals department.
- Follow procedures and processes to ensure the department's continuous development.
- Assist in developing, monitoring, and reviewing procedures and processes.
- Write and update procedures to facilitate smooth departmental operations.
- Coordinate designs with all disciplines, internal and external, to ensure integrated contract execution.
- Maintain files and records throughout project durations.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering quality work and maintaining good communication.
- Work within a culture that prioritizes customer satisfaction, considering all beneficiaries of our processes.

Essential requirements:
- Understanding of water treatment principles and process design experience in these systems.
- Experience in managing/mentoring staff in designing water and sewage treatment plants.
- Membership of a professional institution, chartered or nearing chartership.
Preferable qualifications:
- Relevant discipline engineering degree.
Minimum qualifications:
- Relevant discipline Engineering HND.
Additional skills and knowledge:
- Ability to rationalize designs and produce economical plant layouts.
- Good knowledge of water treatment aspects, including mechanical, process, electrical engineering, and project management.
- Flexible mindset capable of managing large data sets.
- Ability to present technical proposals clearly and convincingly.
- Computer literacy.
- Driving license.
Desirable qualifications:
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Hazard Study experience.
- Relevant engineering Master's degree.
