A little more about your role

As a Senior/Principal Engineer, you will drive the delivery of civil and bridge engineering projects, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence. You will mentor and support junior team members.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Bridge design, both in the UK and overseas
2. Bridge management
3. Bridge strengthening and repair, inspections, and assessments
4. Support to other civil and structural engineering teams
5. Feasibility studies and options appraisals
6. Preparation of documents, reports, health and safety risk assessments, scheme designs, drawings, feasibility studies, and cost estimates
7. Preparation of fee estimates
8. Supervision of junior team members and CAD technicians

Your team

Our Civil and Bridge Engineering team in the South West & Wales comprises over 120 engineers, technicians, and project managers from diverse backgrounds. Based in vibrant city centre offices, we have easy access to public transport and amenities.

We work on various projects in the rail and highway sectors for clients like HS2, Network Rail, National Highways, Local Authorities, D&B Contractors, and private clients. Our culture of learning and development offers excellent opportunities to broaden your experience across sectors.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

It is expected that you will be a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with experience in:

• Bridge design, maintenance, and assessment from site and office work
• Project management of bridge projects
• Design, maintenance, and supervision of structures, including innovation in bridge and civil structure management
• Knowledge of DMRB and MCDHW standards
• Application of Eurocodes to bridge design
• Design or assessment experience of steel, reinforced, and prestressed concrete bridges
• Proficiency with analysis software like LUSAS, Superstress, and SAM
• Strong communication and client handling skills, adaptability, and team development enthusiasm
