Position - Senior Engineer or Civil Engineer

Location - Hinton House (minimum 3 days per week)

Hybrid working - 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

Arrangement - Contract or Staffed

Salary - Dependent on experience (Inside IR35)

Security Clearance - BPSS minimum

Note: BPSS clearance at basic level is required. Previous clearance will not be transferable.

Our client seeks a self-motivated Senior Mechanical or Civil Engineer capable of working independently on tasks.

The candidate will operate as a lone worker or within a small team of 2-3 people, focusing on R&D solutions and MSSS. Siloes or pond experience is essential.

Responsibilities include:

1. Supporting the Technical team in managing leaks within MSSS Original Building
2. Leading work packages, working autonomously with limited oversight
3. Performing work independently, with occasional ad-hoc support
4. Scoping and specifying technical work
5. Leading specific work packages (internal or external delivery)
6. Producing and presenting NFR reports
7. Reviewing work of team members
8. Planning future scope, including transition from technical to design/projects
9. Engaging with regulatory bodies on assigned work packages

Required experience:

1. Technical assessment and review
2. Study delivery
3. Strategy development
4. Technology development / R&D
5. Plant trials
6. Early design delivery (study and concept phases)
7. Project or programme management

Essential background:

1. Chartered in their discipline
2. Experience in the nuclear industry, e.g., Sellafield MSSS and Silos
