Key Accountabilities

• Provide Network Design function for Datacentre environments in collaboration with Product, Architecture, and Security teams
• Complete planned works and maintenance on systems and networks, providing leadership for upgrades and modifications
• Respond to faults and service outages, completing corrective maintenance according to standards, policies, and procedures
• Provide technical guidance for projects, installation, commissioning, and transition into service
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting
• Conduct testing and measurement to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing within the team
• Create work instructions and support materials for service and technical delivery
• Contribute to continuous improvement of policies, processes, and procedures
• Engage with customers and build positive relationships
• Supervise delivery of 3rd party suppliers and contractors to meet standards
• Assist in engineering team management, planning, and supervision, fostering innovation and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Either a higher education or professional qualification in a relevant discipline, or relevant experience.

Required Expertise

• Extensive experience in operational network support, troubleshooting complex IP networks
• Strong customer-facing skills and ownership of issues
• Experience in designing and transitioning network services, especially in Datacentre environments
• Ability to challenge solutions and influence designs
• Experience in Service provider and Enterprise Data Centre networks
• Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and remote personnel
• Commitment to personal development and leadership in future technologies

Technical/Professional Skills

• At least Cisco CCNP Enterprise/Service Provider/Datacentre or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Cisco devices including Nexus switches and ASR 9K routers
• Experience with Data Centre and Cloud network technologies
• Proficiency in routing, LAN, WAN, and DC protocols (VxLAN, BGP, OSPF, etc.)
• Experience with Cisco ACI, multi-tenant/VRF, multi-site, MSO, and route leaking
• Understanding of network design in high-threat environments
• Experience with Cisco ASA and Checkpoint is advantageous
