We are currently seeking forSenior Engineer (m/f/d) Composite Tool Design. The successful candidates will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing of tools, jig and fixtures for composite production, inspection and testing. Working closely as part of a team of designers, you will be in charge of producing designs and drawings as well as providing full documentation in English. An essential part of the functions is to ensure on-time delivery of projects within agreed cost limits. Be part of our research and development and works motorsport team in Cologne, Germany.

  • undertake the concept scheming and designing of tooling, jig and fixtures up until final design release.
  • generating detailed specifications of various tools, jigs and fixtures for composite production
  • responsible for design and development of tooling, jig and fixtures for high end race car components including the required drawings and documentation in English.
  • design and develop the tooling, jigs and fixtures for component production, inspection and testing in collaboration with the responsible engineer and the production departments.
  • continuously optimize tool and jig designs to maximize the manufacturing process and efficiency, also following up on feedback from the workshops
  • engage in workload planning for the composite design group in partnership with the responsible engineers and the production departments
  • ensure on-time delivery of projects within agreed cost limits

Your Skills:

  • have a degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
  • high-level knowledge and relevant experience in motorsport parts layout and the design of high-performance components
  • F1 experience from an F1 team or supplier to an F1 team, minimum 4-5 years, is a clear advantage
  • display sound knowledge and hands-on experience of tool design technologies, for structural and non-structural parts, is a clear advantage
  • understanding of production methods used in composite fabrication and machine shop operations
  • relevant work experience on CATIA V5 and/or CATIA 3DX, solid and surface design. Additional experience in CATIA CPD/CPM, is a clear advantage
  • strong team player and open mind approach to support other team members
  • collaborate effectively under stress, consistently delivering top-quality results on time
  • open minded approach to the dynamic environment of Motorsport
  • flexible approach to working hours
  • quick, pragmatical problem-solver with a target-oriented mindset
  • good level of the English language, verbally and in writing
