Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior Engineer (Highways) on a contract basis with an ASAP start in the West Midlands. You will lead the design and delivery of highway improvement schemes and provide technical mentoring to junior engineers.

The role is hybrid (Warwick offices ~2 days/week) with 37 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, and weekly pay. Experience with NEC4 contracts, AutoCAD, and highway safety standards is essential; Chartered Engineer status preferred. UK work eligibility required.

Qualifications

• Experience in highway design and road safety standards (LTN 1/20).
• Experience delivering highway improvement schemes and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Senior Engineer (Highways) | Contract Opportunity

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, with an ASAP start.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of highway improvement projects with values of up to £2m, taking schemes from concept through to completion.

The team delivers a wide range of projects including highway improvements, active travel schemes, cycleways, bus stop enhancements, and public realm projects. The successful candidate will lead the design and delivery of complex schemes whilst providing technical guidance and mentoring support to junior engineers.

Essential Requirements

• Experienced AutoCAD user
• Strong knowledge of highway design and road safety standards, particularly LTN 1/20
• Proven track record delivering highway improvement schemes
• Ability to mentor and support junior engineers
• NEC4 contract experience
• Able to attend Warwick offices circa 2 days per week and undertake site visits as required
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership

Desirable Experience

• Civil 3D experience
• Active travel project experience
• Site supervision experience
• Familiarity with NEC4 Term Service Contracts & Bills of Quantities
• Experience working within a Quality Management System

Rate: Flexible with Candidate Experience
