We are currently hiring for multiple positions within our flood risk team due to ongoing growth. We seek a Senior Engineer to support our Water Engineering team across the UK, ideally based in Manchester, Leeds, Chorley, Cockermouth, or London, with other locations considered for the right candidate. Our team undertakes a variety of major infrastructure projects for both private and public sectors, providing integrated flood risk and drainage solutions with cutting-edge design.
Our flood risk portfolio includes projects across the water sector, such as flood alleviation schemes for local authorities, MOD, private clients, surface water separation schemes for water utilities, and collaborations with high-profile housing developers from inception to construction, including natural flood risk management and Sustainable Urban Drainage solutions.
As a project leader, you will guide teams, support clients, and contribute to bidding and growth activities. You will be involved in activities like river, coastal, and flood defence appraisal and design, hydraulic modelling, hydrology assessments, surface water management, and developing business cases. Projects range from £10k to £100m, covering defense, transport, local government, utilities, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, and residential developments.
You will work independently on technical tasks from project inception to completion, support junior staff, and ensure projects meet time and budget requirements. We offer internal training, mentoring, CPD, and a hybrid working model, with some travel and outside-hours work expected.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in flood risk or surface water projects, report writing, client meetings, multidisciplinary teamwork, natural flood management, and familiarity with the NPPF. Skills in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civils 3D, and Microsoft Office are desirable. Candidates should have a relevant degree, be Chartered or working towards it, and hold a UK driving license. Security clearance to SC level is preferred or willingness to obtain it.
