Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems and facilities management to support the operational readiness of healthcare infrastructure. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all essential systems, including Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV), mechanical services, and infrastructure, meet safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and improvement of hospital facilities, focusing on M&E systems and non-clinical equipment.
• Monitor and ensure the performance of outsourced maintenance teams and specialist vendors, adhering to KPIs and compliance standards.
• Audit maintenance service quality, ensuring adherence to healthcare-specific safety, infection control, and operational protocols.
• Serve as Project Manager for facility improvement works including renovations, retrofitting, system replacements, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex system issues, including evaluating and recommending replacements where necessary.
• Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and project implementation timelines.
• Support external consultants in project execution, including inspections, commissioning, and handover processes.
• Facilitate fire safety and security preparedness, and assist the Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with fire drills and compliance matters.
• Conduct site inspections, enforce house rules, and ensure safe work practices on the ground.
• Provide operational and technical support for infrastructure development within the healthcare campus.
• Ensure prompt service recovery to minimize disruptions in hospital operations due to system faults or breakdowns.
• Raise and manage work requisitions related to system failures or scheduled replacements.
• Take on any other ad hoc responsibilities assigned by the department leadership

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field
• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with ACMV, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Certification or experience in Fire Safety Management is an advantage
